Blue Ox
There are two motor home mounted tow bars in our product line, the Aluminum Aladdin Tow Bar and the ball-in-socket design Aventa Tow Bar. Both of these mount directly to the motor home's 2 inch receiver hitch.
For a car mounted tow bar, we recommend the Acclaim and the Adventurer tow bars. We also offer the Allure tow bar which has a tow ring for attaching to a pintle hook and the Adventurer adjustable folding tow bar.
Blue Ox refers to their vehicle attachment product as a base plate. Other manufacturers may call the product a bracket.
Blue Ox base plates are designed to securely attach a tow bar to the front of a vehicle being towed. The base plate is bolted to the frame of the front end of the vehicle.
The base plates come in either the standard tab version or the removable tab version. The standard tab has a small part that shows on the front of the vehicle. The removable tab is different because you can actually remove this part that shows and not have anything sticking out of the front of your vehicle. Some base plates are available in one or the other versions only, some in both.
